Welcome to Daley Bread

Hello Folks,

So over the last two years I've had some issues with food and eating; in November 2016 I was diagnosed with gastroparesis and fitted with a feeding tube. I won't go into many of the details in this post as it's just a short introduction but I will say that prior to being given a feeding tube I was very sick, tube's aren't something doctors will hand out lightly. I had lost a considerable amount of weight and my internal organs weren't doing great. Having a feeding tube saved my life.

My gastroparesis is being controlled reasonably well at the moment with medication. I am still vomiting fairly regularly but I'm gaining weight and that seems to be enough reason for my less-than-competent doctors to decide I no longer need my feeding tube and for them to suggest weaning me back onto normal food. Now I'm not one to stay down for long, so instead of moping I've decided to start this blog to record my journey with learning to eat again.

So I'll hope you'll come along with me on this bumpy ride, around unexpected corners and on beautiful detours. We'll make a go of this, and if my body cooperates, I will learn to eat again!

Over and Out, Alley!
